Going to California..

Hi lovelies, today I have an outfit post again for you - apologies for the lack of variety lately, but I'm trying to get a) an essay and b) the remains of a stomach bug out of the way before I can properly devote to posting again! I miss drawing, it seems only last week that I was saying how pleased I was to have time to draw for myself again, yet with the rush of Christmas, a job and now an essay and presentation to do it seems that joy was quite short-lived!

Anyway, today I have a new skirt to share with you. For a girl that claims she is very much in favour of autumn/winter fashion, I can't help getting just a little excited at the prospect of summer dresses and maxi skirts worn in the bohemian way they should be. In that spirit, I must share my new maxi skirt with you...

Jacket - Topshop (similar here)
Bralet and boots - New Look (old)
Scarf (worn as belt) - Lush
Skirt - New Look

I must say, the colour of this skirt is unlike anything I've ever had before, and though I'm not a fan at all of orange, this is somewhere between apricot and terracotta (it appears a little paler in photos because of the flash, we were losing the light when these pictures were taken, apologies.) I was plotting to wear it with plain black, then found this bralet lurking in the back of my wardrobe. It was one I'd bought last summer at a student lock-in, primarily because the flowers were the exact shade of my favourite summer lipstick (Barry M 151, a really amazing coral) and realised it would look perfect with this skirt.

Something possessed me to belt the skirt with a scarf instead of a belt, but I really like the almost hippie vibe it gives. I can't wait until it's summer to wear this skirt without the jacket, and maybe even wearing cream with it instead of my usual dark colours. What do you think? Find this on Lookbook here...

Now someone tell me honestly, am I a bit mad to be thinking about summer when it's predicted to snow all next week?!

(All the titles of my blog posts are from amazing songs, most of them I resist sharing, but this one I couldn't, so happy Friday, have a bit of Led Zeppelin.)

    1. I feel the same, I'm very much all-black most of the time, but summer stops me from being such a colour scrooge, and I do have my moments where I want to go all girlie or even - gasp - bright! xxx

  4. That skirt is absolutely stunning! You look amazing, and tbe skirt goes so well with the bralet, scarf (perfect as a belt!), and jacket. Love it! I think it'll look great in the summer, too, so will look forward to seeing how you recycle it. Is the skirt elasticated or fitted? I'm in love with it!

And no, you're not crazy to be thiking about summer already. I always do that as soon as New Years is over and winter has lost it's appeal xx

  10. The colour of this skirt is gorgeous! I am so looking forward to Summer (despite my love of big wooly jumpers) I need to brighten up my wardrobe a bit... I always feel a bit odd wearing florals/pastels around Winter :(

    1. Yeah I definitely agree, in winter I go all-out dark, no holds barred, but I'm feeling the need to brighten up now! We don't have snow unlike most of the UK it seems so colour it is, haha! xxx
