You've got to keep your fire burning inside...

So, I've been working on an essay for the past week or so, which inevitably means a decent amount of procrastination has occurred alongside that. I'm becoming quite well acquainted with the new collections on the high street and have compiled a little wishlist of the prettiest things I've seen so far.

These T-bar shoes from New Look caught my eye in the shop window annoyingly after I'd just left the store. My inner black-heel hoarder nearly had to rush back in to buy them, but it was a busy Saturday and I'd just waited ages for my friends to finish queuing! I've been longing for some shoes with T-bars for ages. The last thing I really need is black heels, but I can't help wanting these irrespective of that little fact. You can't see it perfectly here, but those are spikes instead of studs, and I do love a good spiked shoe.

There's been quite a few tops in this style going around the high street, which is up my street as I don't really like my arms being totally exposed, but a lot of mesh can look a bit filmy to me and I don't really like it. This Dobby mesh crop top from Topshop solves that issue as it's more of a net material and punctuated with polka dots. Since almost all of my bottoms are high waisted I have no qualms about the fact that almost all of my tops are cropped.

Do any of you read Glamour's column, "Hey, it's OK.."? I have a new one, "Hey, it's OK if the main reason you're looking forward to buying summer brights is so you can add as much black to them as possible." But seriously, can you imagine how ace this practically neon top would look with black velvet shorts and a choker?

Something I actually do need is nightwear - nice nightwear, pretty nightwear that is intended to be nightwear rather than ex-boyfriend's cast-offs or mismatched tops that are worn out but I can't bear to be parted with. This oversized T-shirt would be super comfy but I also adore the design. Let's roam with wolves, shall we?

Stepping away from the high street for a minute, I can't help loving this cat skirt from Vintage Style Me. It's so colourful and really busy and the kind of purchase that I can imagine bringing home and my mum would either love it or think I'm absolutely mad, but it appeals to my inner crazy cat lady and I love the lace trim. I'm already picturing it with a black off-shoulder top and patterned tights because this is crying out for a clash. Ooh, want. (Funnily enough, I started drafting this post yesterday and then last night it was announced on Twitter that Rhiannon is giving away one of these skirts! Must be fate...)
