Dress - Topshop

Boots - Surfdome
This dress is the exact same shape as the red fairisle one I've posted about before which I really like at the moment because it's high on the neck but low at the back - it's a really subtle but pretty detail that I love and sets this aside from your standard jersey T-shirt dress. The band back detail is great too as you don't have the pain of trying to figure out what kind of bra to wear! I know monochrome's having a moment right now and everyone's doing the black and white stripe thing so if I look like a prisoner then at least I'm a trendy one. The dress costs £26 before student discount and my fairisle dress has washed and worn so well that I know the cost per wear of this will be worth it.
Despite the protests of my best friend I had to try the dress with my polka dot tights and I love them together. I got these tights in the Next sale at Christmas and I really wish I'd bought two pairs because I'm going to be gutted when they inevitably ladder. I belted this dress to hide the join which I like as it cinches my waist a lot and then to finish the look I added the standard lace socks, ankle boots and mass of black jewellery. I'm wearing Believe by Lush on my lips which is a really nice coral-pink that just so happened to match my nails perfectly. I love black, coral and white together - it's a fresher alternative to the more obvious combination of black, white and red. Find this on Lookbook here...
Do you like this outfit? Are you a fan of the monochrome/stripes trend or is it a little too cartoon-cat-burglar for your liking?
PS. I just drew the results for my blog giveaway - congratulations to Keely! Thank you so much to everybody who entered, I appreciate all of your comments so much and can't wait to host another giveaway!

DeleteI've wanted this dress for ages but topshop dresses are always really short x
ReplyDeleteI've been umm-ing and ahh-ing about it for ages too. Both this and the fairisle one I have happen to be from the petite section (petite I most certainly am NOT but there you have it, stranger things have happened) but this one's available in the tall section now too so you could always try that one! xxx
DeleteI love this dress and you have such a lovely skinny waist!
