Baby, darling, how I long to become your suicide blonde.

Happy Friday, everyone! Also, happy Saint David's Day and happy birthday to my dad! I'm going home this weekend to celebrate his birthday but before I start getting ready to go I decided I'd quickly post an outfit from this week because it features my new boots (nicknamed my monster truck boots) which I am utterly infatuated with and I can't wait any longer to share them here.

Glitter Choker - Twirly Trinkets
Pinafore - Topshop
Crop Top -  ASOS
Boots - H&M

I've mentioned my monster truck boots before in my latest Instagram post - they're so chunky with such grippy soles and a quilted front section, they just remind me of a monster truck tyre. With 20% student discount at H&M this week I couldn't resist! I'm wearing my cord pinafore here with a '90s crop' from ASOS - the contrast between the cord and the jersey makes me think that I can get away with wearing black-on-black with this, which is always good news in my book, plus the high waist and pinafore style makes a too-short crop wearable without baring too much flesh. And let's not forget my latest favourite choker (again, there's a better view of my new additions in the previously linked post) - it's a glittery beauty from Twirly Trinkets, though you can't see the sparkle particularly well in these photos. I also now have a plain velvet skinny choker but felt a bit of glitter wouldn't go amiss in this otherwise fairly understated outfit. What do you think? Find this outfit on Lookbook here...

Do you like my monster truck boots - would you wear them? I've never been particularly bothered about learning to drive, as walking or using public transport has always been easier, cheaper and more convenient for me... but this bad boy might make me change my mind...

Have a great weekend!

    1. Ahaha I know I want it! Would definitely get my license if I could drive that bad boy. I looove the boots, I asked my housemate if she liked them when I saw them in H&M (I was in an overexcited state) and she was like 'ummmm... *I* wouldn't wear them but styled right they could be cute?!' I hope I've made them cute hahah! xxx

  2. Those boots really are cool. I caved and ordered the spiky JC Coltranes from my shoe post, so it's cracked-out monster truck boots all around! ^_^ I really do love this outfit. Have a lovely weekend and good luck in H&M! If you still can't find the supercool cat top I can pick one up for you. xx

  4. I love those boots but you'd have to add an extra 3 inches to the heel before they made their way into my wardrobe.
Also weirdly enough it's my dad's birthday today too, however I'm sick so I can't go home this weekend for fear of spreading my germs :(

Oh and it goes without saying my amorous feelings towards that pinafore. We're also wearing similar outfits today, so good taste obvs!

  7. Love the pinafore and the choker. You look so nineties you're making me nostalgic. I feel like watching The Craft now! I used to love wearing chokers back then, and the whole nineties trend is one I'm seriously loving. I really like the boots, though I doubt I'd be able to walk in them. They remind me of the chunky platform boots I used to wear to secondary school when I was about 13/14. You look amazing in them, and your outfit is fab as always xx

  8. Gorgeous outfit post! When I first read monster truck boots I was expecting really grungy boots but these are lovely and quite glam. Really love how you've styled them.

    1. Thanks so much! Yeah these are still pretty glam, maybe I should get some alter-ego monster truck boots: something that makes New Rocks look tame haha! That would be pretty insane xxx
