Here comes a storm in the form of a girl...

Hi lovelies, apologies for the more sporadic posting this week - I've been really busy with drawing and it feels like life just wants to keep me busy at the moment. It's coming towards the end of term now and it always feels like the pace of life accelerates hugely - this doesn't actually make sense considering my work isn't due in until after the holidays but apparantly I'm a sucker for punishment as I really can't stop stressing about getting my work completed! It doesn't help that I'm getting cabin fever as the majority of my work is done within the four walls of my bedroom, I rarely have anywhere to be, so on Thursday night my housemates and I decided to step out for a much-needed escape from the house and went out to dinner at the local pub which is lovely and cosy with a log fire. Their menu was rather lacking in vegetarian options which was a bit rubbish (come on, we veggie folk are hardly a rarity any more and we need catered for!) but luckily good company and Aspall cider on draught made up for that! Before we headed out, my housemate Jo and I managed to grab some outfit pictures as we've not had any other opportunity this week!

Cardigan - Republic (old)
Dress - Coco's Fortune (available in purple here)
Boots - H&M

I found this dress in the incredibly cheap Rare London sale and I had to make an order. It's kind of funny how the dresses I'm really lusting over at the moment are around £40 and I can't afford that, yet I can somehow justify it when I'm getting four dresses for that amount. Does that make sense to any of you?! Anyway, this beauty is from Coco's Fortune and reminds me of something Courtney Love would wear in her Hole days. Generally I worry that colours like this wash me out even more, but something in the sheen of the fabric made me less concerned about that - I just think it's so pretty. The cardigan (which has been sitting in my wardrobe forever) was more of a practicality - I was going to a pub after all and needed to dress things down a bit. This was kind of like the baby bear in the tale of Goldilocks - it was the only knitwear to hand that sat nicely over the dress that wouldn't be too warm or too boring, as I relied on wearing a plain black cardigan over pretty dresses for too many years and I can't really stand that combination any more! Finishing the outfit with my new favourite monster truck boots (which easily survived the walk to the pub and back) I was ready to stomp my way outside. Find this outfit on Lookbook here...

Also it is of course a long shot but the Company blog awards are just around the corner and I'd love it if you could vote for me in the 'personal style blogger' section! I know loads of amazing people that are entering this but I thought that it couldn't hurt to try anyway! I hope you have a lovely weekend, let me know what your plans are... have you all remembered to buy something for Mother's Day?!

    1. Thanks so much! I agree in terms of I feel like I'd look a bit like a Cadbury's wrapper in the purple, but I still think both are lovely! Though the pink is way more Courtney! Bargains are the best, agreed. ;) xxx
